Breast Cysts

Breast cysts are fluid-filled sacs in the breast which cause round/oval shaped lumps. These lumps are not cancerous. Breast cysts usually occur in women between the ages of 35-50, before menopause. In some cases, breast cysts happen in postmenopausal women who take hormone therapy.

 

Symptoms of a breast cyst may include:

  • Smooth, easily moveable lump in the breast
  • Yellow, clear, or dark brown nipple discharge
  • Breast pain/tenderness in the lump
  • Increase in lump size before your period, decrease in size after your period
